Our Top 10 Favorite Super Bowl Commercials

Another Super Bowl won, another football season under wraps – and a good one it was! Just in case you’re not a football fan – the L.A. Rams won, and Cooper Kupp won MVP. If sports aren’t your thing, don’t worry, we’re here to share with you our top 10 favorite Super Bowl 2022 commercials.

10. Coinbase

Coming in at number 10 is Coinbase‘s analog QR code ad. It definitely did its job grabbing the attention of viewers. Super Bowl party attendees everywhere scurried to open the camera app on their phones to scan the code – must have been a pretty funny sight from your TV’s perspective. Anyway, when it opens… well, we’ll let you see that for yourself.

As for Grandma, Grandpa, and your old Aunt Malorie, that ad was definitely not for them… however… this was target audience-specific, so… great job, Coinbase!

9. Verizon – Larry the Cable Guy

Popping into number 9 is Verizon‘s Larry the Cable Guy commercial. First off, who doesn’t smile when they see Jim Carey’s face? Secondly, this was a creative way to show the simplicity and power Verizon Fios obtains. The way they show off the sleek, little white box – it makes you want to make the switch while staring at your bulky one near your TV.

8. Chevrolet – The Sopranos

Chevrolet went the nostalgic route with their Sopranos ad. Mainly enjoyed by Sopranos fans, the commercial began with the same intro to the show with the iconic theme song. You see a fan favorite, Meadow, driving the Chevy to unite with other fan favorite, AJ. If you’re a true Sopranos fan, their embrace at the end of the ad probably made you yell, “ahhh!”

Nostalgia is always a good move.

7. Squarespace

Squarespace‘s Sally’s Seashells ad was a fun, humorous play on words that any creative team would love. The copywriting was sharp and witty, and the whole idea behind the ad was brilliant. It creatively shows how easy it is to set up a website to support your passion. Plus, adding Emmy-winning and Euphoria star, Zendaya was a great move.

6. Lays – Golden Memories

Lays gets a round of applause for bringing in arguably two of the funniest people in Hollywood, Seth Rogan, and Paul Rudd, for their SB ad. The two enjoy a bag of Lays while remembering the “golden memories” together while they wait for Seth to get married. The flashbacks journey is hilarious, wild, and ends with a really funny twist. This one is a must-watch!

5. Pringles

Pringles presented a “coming of age” commercial about a young man that gets his arm stuck in a Pringles can. You’re brought on a journey through his life – showing each milestone and doing it all with the can stuck on his arm. Hilarious, well thought out, and acts as well as a promotional ad, while still making fun of its own product.

4. Kia – The All-Electric Kia EV6

Yes… some people teared up because of the cuteness of a robot dog chasing an electric car owner… and some of those people were us. This was a very creative, funny, and heartfelt way to show off Kia‘s all-electric EV6. It has the typical shots of the car driving, but also told the story of the electric dog chasing it, wanting to be adopted by a man that knows how to handle electric things. So cute.

3. Irish Spring

Irish Spring presents a cult-like ad that worships the soap. The “cult” does not allow “stinky people” to be in their community, and when a sweaty, smelly man approaches them, they perform a cleansing “sacrifice.” This ad was both extremely weird and hilarious at the same time.

2. Amazon – Mind Reader

Hilarious. Starring Scarlett Johansson and real-life husband, Colin Jost, the couple imagine what it would be like if Amazon‘s Alexa could read your mind. After a compilation of funny scenes and exploitation, they decide it would not be a good idea. This was a great way to show Amazon’s product without it being the center of attention.

1. Flamin’ Hot

This commercial was one of the first to air, and definitely one of our favorites. A woman is bird-watching in the jungle and drops her Flamin’ Hot Doritos and Cheetos. After some animals get into it, their reaction sounds (and with the help of a beat-boxing fox) start performing “Push It” in the middle of the jungle. This commercial was probably one of the funniest.
