Ripples of Hope

The Challenge

On September 25th, 2015, The United Nations banded together to end humanities race towards extinction. Together, 193 individuals sought to do what no single university, politics, or monetary empire could: create a realistic, world-wide solution to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

Thus was born the 17 Sustainable Development goals: Mankind’s road-map to self-preservation and a brighter future. Issues such as clean water, sustainable communities,  gender equality, protecting the oceans, and ending world hunger became focal points for both commerce and community interest. In order to sustain such a detailed plan, both public and private sectors needed to band together with the full understanding that, should a solution not be reached, the human race would no longer be able to sustain itself.

THE SOLUTION

Launching and innovating Sustain R World day needed to accomplish more than just raising awareness:  Multiple components of the United Nations decision had to mesh in one central location, allowing a shareable database for schools, government, business, individuals, and even a few celebrities to all take part in the unique opportunity to make a difference. Three Summers Creative presented their consumer-focused solution to United Nations delegates from around the world.

Informative, interactive, and most importantly: Intriguing. With full bodied outreach outreach campaign that included moving videos, spoken word performance, contests, free certifications and online pledging options, individuals were able to access the stats behind each goal while gaining free resources to make lasting impacts. Tools like online social quiz’s helped connect individuals with the causes they cared about most, while celebrity endorsements and branding partnerships helped spread the word. Even school groups could commit to the change, forming new college clubs and contests dedicated to world-wide sustainability.

Community pledges and online buzz quickly grew. People began recognizing small changes towards gender equality and eco-friendly choices, while gaining access to sustainably-sources businesses and like-minded individuals

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
